(Got this title from an email Alex C. sent me. Always a crack up. lol)
Well, while we wait for Emery’s test results, I might as well share what’s been going on with her. So Tuesday morning, while changing her diaper, I noticed her poop was white. White? I thought it was unusual, but didn’t think much of it. What I did notice, was that she hardly ate breakfast which is her biggest meal of the day. Also, I noticed she wasn’t even eating her usual goldfish and fruits during snack time. We left to Target to do some groceries, came back home and while Emery was playing in the living room, I saw her suddenly stop in the middle of the room, said “uh-oh” and then we heard an explosion. Michael changed her diaper with again, white poop. And no less then 5 minutes later, same thing happened. Well, Wednesday morning, she had some yogurt for breakfast. That was all she wanted. And during lunch time (Michael always comes home for lunch) we said, “if this continues, we’re taking her to the doctor.”
After Michael left home for work, I did some research online and googled “white poop” and grabbed my cell phone as soon as I saw the words “rare. liver. gall bladder. bile duct. disease.” Called the ped right away and we took her in. After answering A LOT of questions, we were asked to collect stool from Emery and take it to the lab. Michael was away in church at the time Emmy pooped and I had the honors of collecting it. lol. Michael filled the remaining 2 containers with yesterday’s poop.
But anyway, during the visit, we were told it could be a parasite called Giardia Lamblia that is causing all this. After coming home, I researched it and found out there are two ways she could have gotten this. One, was by drinking water containing the parasite. Or two, handling infected animals. I knew it couldn’t be #2, so I had to settle with #1. And I read these parasites are found in swimming pools, rivers, lakes, etc. Which reminded me why we waited till Emmy was one to take her to a pool. She’s been to a pool 4 times in her almost 2 years of life. Went just last Saturday. And can’t say she’ll be going in one any time soon. Stupid pool. Stupid parasite living off my daughter.
Still, I can’t be sure it’s the parasite causing this, but she’s not showing any other symptoms like pain and fever. All we can do is wait. Results will be ready in 42-72 hours. Considering the weekend, we’ll most likely hear something on Tuesday. So we’ll keep you guys posted as soon as we find out. Praying it’s that nasty parasite and not something worse like her gall bladder. And again, thank you guys for your concerns, texts, and prayers. :)

Hey, Just a note, if you still have Thumper, you might want to keep her away from him for a little while. Alexandra my niece got a parasite from a rabbit that she had. Keep her out of the water too!
Good looking out and i hope that she gets better!

Thank you Marelys!!
She actually doesn’t come in contact with Thumper. He’s outside. So, the water is my guess.

Yeah Jenny.
Pools are dirty as it is. Even without children. You’re able to catch eye, ear and skin infections, to parasites and even hepatitis. gross!
Anyway, Emmy’s poop is changing. No longer white, but pale. Still waiting for today’s poop.
